Incredible Bonus Week Success! 7 things we can do with these funds

The kids who will benefit from these funds

What an amazing week of fundraising for the new school last week, you raised a total of £5,379 which helped us swipe second place in the leaderboard and earned us £862 in bonus funding. Giving a grand total of £6,241! This is an amazing amount to have raised in one week and we are so grateful for everyone who jumped at the chance to support our school in Kibera.

To give an idea of what you have helped to achieve this week, here's what we could do with the total money raised:

  • Buy 112 textbooks.

  • Buy 21 desks and blackboards

  • Buy 12 good quality footballs

  • Provide breakfast and lunch for 25 children for 9 weeks

  • Pay exam fees for 75 children

  • Contribute towards a teacher's salary for 9 months

  • Provide breakfast and lunch to 60 children for 2 school terms

Now we don't actually need 21 desks and blackboards (not yet at least) so the funds will not literally be assigned in this way. But when you put all those numbers together it shows just how far these funds will go to support the school with the vital inputs it needs to serve the children.

Thank you so much everyone who has given so generously this week, we're blown away by the support that you've shown. Some of you are already regular givers but chose to give above and beyond, others have given to Turning Point for the first time, thanks! We hope that you feel your gift was worth it, because joined with the gifts of others its going a very long way.
