A Step Closer to Dreams

By Marilynn Akinyi | Communications Assistant

Earlier this year, children from our Fountains of Hope School transitioned to secondary school to continue their academic journey. For many, this marked a significant milestone, a step closer to realizing their dreams.

One such child was Natalia. Although she joined her new secondary school much later due to shortcomings, Natalia displayed a resilient spirit, just as she did while in primary school.

Natalia had a thirst for knowledge. Often than not, she would go out of her way to read ahead of the teacher and make sure to ask questions where she didn’t understand. She played football and participated in drama and journalism clubs which boosted her confidence in public speaking.

Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to guide and prepare children like Natalia for secondary school and beyond by offering a full curriculum to develop them wholly. This includes sports and I.T. The social workers and pastor provide much more beyond education, recognising that children encounter multiple issues outside of school. Our daily feeding programme ensures the children grow healthy and strong, enabling them to focus on their studies. We aim to impact the children holistically and see them proceed to secondary school.

To Natalia, Fountains of Hope School was more than just a place of learning; it was a sanctuary for children like her, offering them a chance for a brighter future. She continued her pursuit of knowledge armed with the foundation laid at her beloved school.

A total of 42 children from our Fountains of Hope Primary School proceeded to join secondary school this year. This was truly commendable, and we are excited that all the students received admission letters to different secondary schools. We cannot wait to see them learn new things and grow in this new phase of their lives.
