Globally, unsafe sex is one of the biggest treats for young people. dance4life will increase the awareness of 3000 Dutch teens of how unsafe sex affects the lives of young people worldwide. And together with these youngsters we will take action to create change. Our education program builds the awareness and skills of these young people via our mobile application which is an important tool for practical information, Q&A, homework and talent development.
Unsafe sex is the biggest cause for young girls. dance4life wants to change this together with teens. They need to be empowered, because strong young people can change the world. We inspire teens via our education program and inform them about how their peers across the world deal with their sexuality. Moreover, we build their confidence so that they can make conscious decisions to protect themselves against unplanned pregnancies, sexual transmitted infections and unhealthy sexual relations.
Our edutainment and empowerment approach enhances a comprehensive four-step method that focuses on building the confidence of young people within the area of sexuality and relationships. By taking action for peers, Dutch teens learn that they can make a difference themselves. Our mobile application will support our program so that the teens - anytime - can look up information, discover what talents they have and how they can take action themselves.
The project will build the knowledge, confidence and personal leadership skills of 3000 young teens, allowing them to make conscious decisions about their sexual health and future. They will be able to articulate their needs and have more decision making power. Moreover, they will create awareness about young people and sexuality across the globe in their circle of influence amongst their peers, parents and teachers. This will be the basis for them to become healthy young global citizens.
