Turkiye-Syria Earthquakes Appeal

Our heartfelt thanks for taking action and supporting this appeal, which will make a significant difference to the lives of people affected by these earthquakes. Generous individuals and organisations such as yours have now contributed over $5.6 million to support our local Red Crescent teams in Türkiye and Syria, who are helping people affected by this devastating disaster.   

With over 5,000 staff and volunteers on the ground, Turkish Red Crescent teams have provided: 

• Over 16 million hot meals 
• Over 9 million lunch boxes and over 18 million loaves of bread
• Over 13 million bottles of clean water due to damage to water infrastructure
• Over 50,000 blankets and 3,000 tents to those who have lost their homes

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent has mobilised more than 4,000 staff and volunteers by providing services such as: 

• Assistance to nearly 10,000 people with medical services through Mobile Health Units, with 284 injured people transferred to health facilities through its fleet of 53 ambulances
• Over 25,000 bottles of clean water, and over 54,000 hygiene items
• Psychological first aid services to over 4,500 people, including children

 As this humanitarian crisis continues to unfold, teams on the ground will continue to work tirelessly to address the needs of people affected by these earthquakes. From warm food to psychosocial support, highly trained staff and volunteers are doing everything they can.
