International Medical Corps works closely with local partners, including local and national governments, in all areas where it works. In Turkey, a country with demonstrated disaster response experience, our local partners have advised International Medical Corps that they are equipped to respond to the immediate humanitarian needs of the communities affected by the 7.2 earthquake that struck on Sunday, October 23. At this time International Medical Corps is not responding with direct response activities, although we will continue to provide advice or guidance to our partners as needed. To best support survivors and reconstruction efforts, we recommend directing donations to GlobalGiving’s Turkey Earthquake Relief Fund. Should the response efforts in Turkey change, International Medical Corps will be sure to update our GlobalGiving supporters.
