Dear Friend,
Development Alert is working on establishment of community tree nurseries to support environmental restoration and large-scale tree planting across Uganda. This initiative is designed to empower local communities while addressing the growing challenges of deforestation, land degradation, and climate change.
Across many rural areas, ecosystems are under pressure, affecting livelihoods, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability. Community tree nurseries offer a practical and scalable solution by creating a reliable, local source of quality seedlings for reforestation and conservation efforts.
Through this proposed project, community members will be trained and supported to establish and manage nurseries, enabling them to raise seedlings for planting in homes, schools, farms, and degraded landscapes.
Proposed Impact
This initiative will not only support tree planting but also build long-term ownership and sustainability within communities. By involving local people from the beginning, we aim to create lasting environmental impact.
However, this project has not yet received funding.
We invite partners and supporters to join us in making this vision a reality. Your support will help establish community tree nurseries that can restore degraded landscapes, empower communities, and contribute to a greener, more resilient Uganda.
Together, we can grow solutions that last for generations.
