Our Truck has been restored!
Our founder and CEO of Orphanage Life Savers, Jacques Senat has just completed his quarterly trip to Haiti to visit our kids and to finish the work required to get our truck into active service as a "Tap Tap" (this is what they call Taxi's in Haiti. If you want the Taxi to stop to take you somewhere, you take a coin or stone and tap the side of the truck and they will stop). We are happy to report that seats have been installed and the truck has passed inspection! The children are excited not only about the stream of income that the "Tap Tap" provides, but for the transportation it will provide for our 12 kids. Transportation is required for them to get to school and to get to the clinic for their healthcare.
For the next few months, we will continue to ask for donations to pay for insurance for the truck. Insurance in Hait is expensive and we don't want to pull from our funding for food, clothes, healthcare and school just yet. Insurance is needed to put our truck into service.
Your support has done so much. A year ago our truck sat in parts in Kansas City Missouri. With your help we put it back together, drove it to Miami and had it shipped to Haiti. The project is almost 100% funded and again, with your help will be complete when our first 12 months of insurance is paid for.
Thank you again for your continued support. We could not do this without you !
