In January 2010, a massive earthquake destroyed our orphanage and 10 of our children. The 12 survivors moved into the childhood home of the orphanage's founder, Jacque Senat. Jacque's business, the sole financial supporter of the orphanage was also destroyed. Jacques moved to Kansas City, MO. and took on a job as a cab driver to fund the expenses of the orphanage. To this day, Jacques works 20 hours a day as a cab driver to provide over 75% of the annual funding for Orphanage Life Savers.
Orphanage Life Saver (OLS) is looking to raise additional income for the facility to help with repairs, food, healthcare, a generator for electricity, educational materials, clothing and bedding for the 12 children living in this house.
By funding OLS, yu will be providing additional financial assistance. By creating a financial reserve we can continue our work to bring the facility up to a more suitable living condition. In addition, we will restore and ship a truck which was donated in the U.S. to OLS.
This truck will supply sustained financial income for OLS. Not only will it be used in basic transportation and restoration of OLS, it will be used as a taxi for public transportation. OLS will employ one full time driver in a country where very few formal employment opportunities exist. Taxi revenue will be reinvested 100% to meet our line item budget needs and savings for unforeseen setbacks.
