In July, 2014 Jacques Senat, the founder of Orphanage Life Savers travelled to Haiti to complete the delivery of our truck to the 12 children and the staff or Orphanage Life Savers. Prior to his trip to Haiti, he and a few of our staff members here in Kansas City drove the truck to Maimi, Florida so it could be placed into a massive shipping container which was then loaded onto a cargo ship scheduled for Haiti.
This truck, is in the proccess of being outfitted with a safe seating system and placed under an insurance policy and will then be put to work. It will be used to carry supplies for our orphanage and for transporting our kids back and forth to school. It will also be used as a taxi (in Haiti they are called "Tap Taps" which will create a stream of income that supports the operational costs of Orphanage Life Saver which includes our children, our staff and costs associated with the building, food, clothing and healthcare.
Without your support, this truck restoration project would not be possible! Thank you for your generous donations.
Our kids are growing and we need more space. In December, 2014 Jacques will be travelling to Haiti to search for a larger home to house our 12 children. Our goal is to secure a rental home for the next 12 months as our original structure is renovated and expanded. Please watch for our new projects that will be posted on Global Giving in the month of November.
Thank you again for your compassionate support! Every contribution was a significant building block that restored our truck!
