We have launched relief and recovery for poor communities affected by Tropical Storm Trami (local name: Kristine) with our water, sanitation and food security initiatives. Tropical Storm Trami has displaced thousands and recovery will be long-term. On the short-term we will provide emergency water and sanitation support and food aid. In the long-term we will provide improvement of small-scale livelihoods like vegetable gardening and the raising of small animals like chicken and goats.
Tropical Storm Trami is considered the most devastating of storms this year and it has caused widespread devastation and massive loss of lives and livelihoods. With the extent of the disaster, recovery will be long-term. The support of organizations like us will help facilitate recovery of poor communities.
Water and sanitation is basic necessity that is often not given priority in a disaster. We come in in order to provide much-needed assistance with our award-winning water and sanitation initiatives. We also come in with food security and livelihood support and targeting remote and hard to reach communities.
The recovery of those affected by Tropical Storm Trami will be long-term and our initiative will help in ensuring that the beneficiaries are assisted as they struggle to rebuild their lives and livelihoods after the devastating effect of the storm.
