Tree Growing to Save the Planet

Thank you very much for your donation to our project tree growing in order to save the planet. The past 5 months were difficult for us since the heat-wave caused problems with our agricultural activities and in our promoting tree growing in the hinterlands. Farmers were then busy looking for alternative sources of food as crops do not grow with so much heat. At the moment, rains has started to fall and tree growing is starting in earnest again. We promote on the growing of food and tree crops in order for farmers to adopt our technology. Tree growing alone is not very attractive because of the lenght of time income is derived from the trees. Integrating tree growing with cash crops like vegetables is a better option for farmers. We plan to increase the number of beneficiaries in the coming months. This reporting period we were able to assist 72 farmers by providing farming inputs to them.

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your support to our project tree growing in order to save the planet. This time of the year is the middle of the El Nino phenomenon and the villages are very dry. Crops are not growing well and fodder for the animals is scarce. However the weather bureau has announced that the phenomenon will end soon and that rains will come. We are preparing for the coming of rain by growing seedlings in our seedling nursery area. The seedlings will be dispersed to farmers for them to plant and grow in their farms. We are promoting the growing of fruit and timber trees in the farms in order to promote improved incomes and biodiversity. We are preparing 20,000 seedlings to be grown and distributed this season.
