Summary

This project strengthens the emotional resilience of Israeli and Palestinian civil society peacebuilders through trauma-informed training. Through targeted training focusing on youth, leadership convenings, mentoring organizations, and laying the foundation for a regional trauma facilitator network, this project seeks to support those struggling with the effects of violence and to make recognition of trauma and tools to address it an integrated and integral factor of peacebuilding work.

Challenge

The communities ALLMEP serves are grappling with the compounding effects of prolonged conflict, recent violence, and widespread trauma. Civil society peacebuilders and leaders are operating under extreme pressure, while carrying their own emotional burdens. Despite the growing recognition that healing is inseparable from justice and peace, there is limited access to trauma-informed support. This lack of resources and training undermines the effectiveness of peacebuilding efforts.

Solution

ALLMEP's project offers tiered, locally driven trauma support: Trainings for youth camp facilitators and women leaders Trauma modules embedded in regional workshops Long-term mentoring for civil society organizations Development of a trauma facilitator network New initiative: psychosocial support for children from Gaza currently stranded in Egypt, delivered through trusted local partners and community educators All activities emphasize cultural relevance, local ownership, and sustainability.

Long-Term Impact

This initiative will transform the way peacebuilding is practiced by making trauma-awareness a foundational element. It will build a sustainable network of certified trauma facilitators and foster emotionally safe spaces for youth and communities, contribute to deeper reconciliation, and increased social cohesion. By embedding trauma-informed approaches across ALLMEP's diverse network, the project lays the groundwork for a more resilient, connected, and healing-centered peace movement.
