Nourishing Hope. Strengthening Families. Transforming Futures

By Liliana Nunez | Proyect Leader

Empowering children to discover the joy of reading
Empowering children to discover the joy of reading
Hello!!

Thanks to you, hope has a place to call home.
At Fundación Betania Juvenil, we believe that real change begins with nutrition, education, and safe spaces. Today, we want to share the fruits of your generosity: a report filled with progress, family empowerment, and transformed lives. Your support makes it possible to keep turning care into opportunity. Thank you for being the driving force behind this impact!

IMPACT IN NUMBERS

  • 4,995 Healthy Breakfasts Provided
Supporting the nutritional well-being of children, adolescents, and older adults.
  • 80 Children and Adolescents Screened
Participated in nutritional screenings to update anthropometric records and strengthen well-being follow-ups.
  • 100+ Educational & Recreational Participations
Children and adolescents took part in reading, arts, academic support, emotional development, recreation, and values-based activities.
  • 50+ Caregivers & Family Members Engaged
Participated in activities focused on family strengthening, communication, child protection, self-esteem, parenting, and personal development.
  • 25+ Home Visits Conducted
Carried out to support families, identify barriers to participation, and strengthen children's engagement in the Foundation's programs.
  • 45+ Older Adults Engaged
Participated in activities focused on social connection, recreation, emotional well-being, motor skills, healthy nutrition, and community building.

NUTRITION THAT OPENS DOORS

During the reporting periods, 4,995 healthy breakfasts were provided, supporting children, adolescents, and older adults. Attendance reached up to 90% of beneficiaries during some reporting periods.
For us, every breakfast represents much more than food: it is an opportunity to participate, learn, connect, and feel cared for.

LEARNING THAT INSPIRES

Academic support activities strengthened key skills in reading, writing, mathematics, number recognition, concentration, and cognitive development.
  • Through stories, games, creative activities, and participatory learning strategies, children experienced education as an engaging and meaningful process.
  • The activities showed clear progress in mathematics, reading, and writing, while new scheduling strategies successfully helped increase participation and attendance.

EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING, ART & SAFE SPACES

Through specialized activities such as “Stories Come to Life,” “Emotions Leave Their Mark,” “Heart and Mirror,” and creative reading sessions, participants found vital opportunities to express their emotions, develop creativity, and strengthen core values such as empathy, respect, friendship, and service.
These spaces are more than recreational activities: they help children and adolescents express themselves, feel heard, and recognize their own unique strengths.

‍‍ FAMILIES GROWING TOGETHER

Family-strengthening activities engaged parents, caregivers, and family members around communication, child protection, self-esteem, positive parenting, and supportive family environments. Home visits complemented this work by reaching families experiencing attendance challenges and providing personalized, at-home support.

STORIES OF CHANGE

Luis Miguel: Small Steps, Meaningful Progress

Luis Miguel received personalized educational support and demonstrated important progress in his learning journey. With consistent practice and encouragement, he strengthened his ability to write words and simple sentences, complete dictation exercises, read his own work, and solve basic addition and subtraction problems.
His story proves that when a child receives attention, patience, and meaningful opportunities to learn, every small achievement becomes a definitive step toward greater confidence and independence.

OUR COMMITMENT

At Fundación Betania Juvenil, we believe that change begins when communities have access to nutrition, education, supportive relationships, and safe spaces to grow. Every meal, every learning activity, every home visit, and every moment of encouragement represents an opportunity to transform lives.
TOGETHER, WE TURN CARE INTO OPPORTUNITY.
Thank you to our donors and partners for being the foundation of this impact and helping us build futures filled with greater opportunity, hope, and dignity. Every contribution helps transform care into opportunity, and opportunity into lasting change.
We invite you to continue walking alongside us to keep nourishing hope, strengthening families, and transforming futures today.
