Dear Supporters,
We believe (and we're sure you agree), that to empower women we need to respect their labour. Our "Women at Work" campaign seeks to highlight and celebrate female labour as seen by women themselves. While it may seem like much of the world went digital, many women continued to provide vital services to their communities. Please take the time to read through the articles about women's labour, and check out the photo stories from around the world (links below).
In these last months, we’ve also done a series of photography workshops and zine-making workshops with women living in Donegal and Dublin, Ireland. Many of the stories, naturally, focused on women’s work in farming. But there are also complex stories about domestic violence and animal welfare, and more lighthearted ones about creativity, motherhood and energy. We will be publishing the stories soon, watch this space, they are very inspirational!
And as the world is beginning to open up, we hope that in the coming future we will finally be able to travel to Gaza to do our workshops with women and girls living there so we can see their world through their eyes.
Stay safe everyone! And thanks for being with us.
Sincerely,
Jekaterina and the femLENS Team
