Exciting new things are now happening at Kali!
Persis, Kali's Centre Manager, writes: “For a period of over two years, Kali had seen no tailoring training as Zambia’s Training Standards Authority for Vocational Training (TEVETA) could not give a go ahead, due to unusable damaged washrooms and a need for properly furnishing the new workshop. Support received from HATW has now seen the construction of a new ablution block, a furnished theory classroom and tailoring workshop!
Thus, we are glad to share the good news that after so much work to improve standards at Kali, TEVETA has approved tailoring training to commence, and we have so far eight students of the ten recommended.
We look forward to more students and more productive training in 2024. The financial support rendered goes a long way to develop better infrastructure and give more confidence to our students.”
Excitingly, Liz, one of our dedicated long-term UK volunteers, has also just joined the Kali computer classes on-line. We look forward to hearing news and being able to include a note from her next time.
Thank you so much for your ongoing vital support and encouragement!
