The project will help participants develop the necessary skills to make healthy decisions that will open doors to more promising social and economic opportunities. The program will reach 30 youth in vulnerable communities, focusing in leadership training and improving social awareness and teamwork, with the objective of generating stable and effective job opportunities.
Despite the increase in youth employment in recent years, the levels of unemployment among at-risk youth remain extremely high in Panama. Research shows that the main causes of unemployment are lack of discipline, the lack of communication skills, problems with authority, and resistance to teamwork.
The sustained effort of the foundation Monte Carmelo has encouraged youth in vulnerable situations to remain in school. This project has the mission of completing the cycle, by providing them with real job opportunities. The program builds ties with leading firms willing give opportunities to youth that have made the necessary efforts to improve their lives and the lives of those around them.
This project will provide 30 young people with employment opportunities. The program include a follow up of the participants to ensure their employment. The project provides valuable work experience and helps to break down barriers and stigmas in their community. In the process, this experience will contribute to the future development of similar projects.
