Dear Global Givers!
We continue learning together with the beautiful community of San Pablo Hidalgo in Morelos, Mexico. Theoretical and practical training sessions on safe construction techniques focused on the foundation and use of mortar were given.Together with neighbors and relatives helped to compact the land and put the stones to make the floor of the new house faster.
We continuously work to detect the needs and contributions of the community for the analysis of the workshops implemented and to be implemented. Next weeks we will be working on spicified workshops in order to build a new and sustainable San Pablo Hidalgo
Within the Cultural Day’s activities in San Pablo, a herbal workshop was imparted and people were taught to prepare natural remedies through local medicinal plants. There was also a mandalas workshop with the participation of children and women; the activities were accompanied by nahuatl poetry clown performances and the Cultural Day finished with a show of fire juggling.
In the past earthquake we not only realized the fragility of the human being before eventualities of nature and the need to strengthen the social fabric. It is time to rebuild together our capacities and community bonds to be better prepared for natural disasters and to have generations more aware of their social and environmental participation in the places where they live.
We hope to continue counting on your support, see you soon. Thank you!
