Dear Teachers for Rural Futures Donors,
Graduate Women International (GWI) extends its heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations to the Teachers for Rural Futures Program. Your invaluable support and generosity are making a tangible difference in the lives of female students from rural regions in Northern and Eastern Uganda. Thanks to your contribution, these remarkable young women are training to become qualified secondary school teachers and ambassadors for girls' education. By serving as role models, they are breaking down educational barriers, reducing school dropouts and paving the way for greater access to quality education for girls in their communities.
Your donations this year supported five young women attending Makerere University in Kampala. Three students recently successfully completed their year-end exams and look forward to starting the new term in January 2025. We are proud to announce that two of our scholars have proudly completed their studies and will graduate in January 2025, increasing the number of female teachers in Uganda which is the main mission of the Teachers for Rural Futures program.
Notably, the scholars have shared inspiring insights as part of our 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which you can read HERE.
One of our students shared the following message expressing her appreciation:
“Am so grateful to GOD for having kept all of us alive. The reason for writing into you this letter is to appreciate your great support and love you show me each and every time concerning my future. I will always pray to God that may your pocket never run dry, may you always be safeguarded by the angels such that you are alive and may he bless all your fellows and family members who are always standing for me. For the bible says I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me what to drink and naked but you dressed me. May you receive all you will need from almighty God”.
Your contributions matter, and we are sincerely grateful for your past donations, and we eagerly look forward to your continued unwavering support in empowering young women through education.
With appreciation,
GWI
