Dear GWI Donors:
As the academic year progresses, the Teachers for Rural Futures scholarship recipients are now undertaking their supervised teaching practice placements in rural schools across Uganda. This important phase of teacher training provides students with the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in real educational settings, develop practical teaching skills, and gain valuable experience working directly with learners and school communities.
Support from GWI donors continues to play a critical role in helping these young women become qualified teachers. Through the Teachers for Rural Futures program, scholarship recipients receive assistance that helps cover costs associated with their teaching practice placements, including accommodation, transportation, and essential teaching materials. By supporting the costs associated with teaching practice placements, donors are helping scholarship recipients with gaining the practical experience and professional skills required to become qualified, female teachers.
GWI looks forward to sharing further updates as the students complete this important milestone in their professional preparation.
With appreciation,
Stacy Dry Lara
GWI Executive Director
