We're expanding our program and require financial support to train 60 trainers to provide our anti-sexual abuse curriculum in new schools. This expansion aims to empower over 3,000 Egyptian students (under the age of 18), plus teachers and parents this in 2024. Not Guilty has provided training to 38,000 children, 130,000 parents, and 600 teachers across 60 schools (and growing)! Before reaching the age of 18, approximately one out of every four girls and one out of every six boys endure sexual abuse, yet only 10% of these cases are brought to light. In the Middle East, the issue of sexual abuse has never been systematically addressed, largely due to a culture of shame. Children who experience sexual abuse are significantly more prone to enduring serious emotional challenges throughout their lives, including anxiety, anger, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), etc.
Our Train the Trainer Program aims to foster positive transformation within the target demographic, encouraging informed decision-making, behavioral modifications, and the adoption of appropriate practices at the individual, family, and community levels. Furthermore, the program aims to develop skills for both direct and indirect intervention while prioritizing bystander safety.
The enduring effects of our Train the Trainer Program are diverse and extensive. Through empowering individuals to serve as trainers and advocates for violence prevention, we anticipate various lasting outcomes. These include shifts in culture, the implementation of prevention strategies within educational institutions and households, policy changes to enhance protections, and the establishment of a safer, more inclusive society where violence is condemned, and individuals are empowered to champ
