2020 is on the horizon. We want to share again that 2020 is the year we will be returning to Kenya to continue training teachers in the Transformative Citizenship Program(TCP) as well as taking TCP online, in partnership with G-Locate (Canada) and Eduweb (Kenya).
Please support us in these initiatives.
Right now, we also want to invite you to join in a project. Simple. Personal. Could you send us a photo, video or story that in some way shares with us a moment when you have built (or rebuilt) peace in your own life.
At home or a work, how do you resolve or prevent conflict? Please share...inspire, encourage, educate and compel us to pick up your ideas or embrace more of our own.
You can send all your photos, videos and stories to us via this email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We at corners are excited to announce that we will be collaborating with Eduweb Technologies (Kenya) and G-locate Technologies (Canada) on a new project. The collaboration will support the limitless capability of the Transformative Citizenship Program by making the program available to for those who cannot actually attend in-person sessions, whether temporarily or for the entire program. Countless more participants can benefit from both the in-person and online versions. All that will be needed is access to a single device – even just a phone.
The Transformative Citizenship software will be designed and tested to be implemented as an interactive, online learning platform with an app and portal for participant network development, as well as digitalized participant tracking and performance monitoring.
This process/project of design, delivery and testing will be rolled out by training and deploying women TCP trainers (of in-person and online) who will then train Kenyan teachers, who will teach Kenyan secondary students. And so on. Our commitment throughout is to highlight our women role models and to serve at least 50% women and girls in our teacher and student populations.
We will continue to keep you all up to date on our work in Kenya as well as new TCP initiatives that we are working on. We are grateful for your continuous support of our cause.
Your support of our mission has made a great impact in the lives of Transformative Citizenship leaders and participants in Kenya. We are currently finishing up our work with the Kenyan ministry of education and hope to hand off the program for all future monitoring and evaluation.
This summer we are looking forward to sharing with you some of the new initiatives we have been working hard to implement. We are grateful for all the support we have recieved thus far, and ask that you continue to spread the word about the Transformative Citizenship Program and its impact.
It’s 2019, and we at corners are determined to explore the new opportunities the year has to offer and share them with you. This year we are dedicated more than ever to empowering youth and educators in Kenya and here at home through the Transformative Citizenship Program. We are working hard to renew implementation of the program in creative ways – including online – and we look forward to sharing this process with you throughout spring and summer.
With your support, we will finish our work with and commitment to the Kenyan Ministry of Education and our Transformative Citizenship leaders in Kenya to empower the educators and students at Joyland, Mbeka Girls’, and Nyang’oma Boys’ schools. And to hand off the program to the Ministry for all future training, monitoring, and evaluation.
We ask that you spread the word about Transformative Citizenship and its social value. We welcome any and all donations to our cause; and we remain grateful for those that we have received. We wish you a wonderful, healthy and peaceful year.
For many the end of a year is a time of warmth, reflection, giving, and hope for new beginnings. This is why we at corners have chosen this time to finally launch our long awaited “10 DOLLARS, 10 000 TIMES” Engagement campaign that will help facilitate the training of teachers in Kenya to teach transformative citizenship.
The campaign will be launched alongside our first social media platform. On the 22nd of November, corners will be joining Instagram. Our page will have information on the projects we have been involved in, as well as follow projects that are ongoing. A link to our Instagram page will be made available on the day of our launch.
We are excited to start this new adventure, and hope that we will be able to better connect with all of our supporters and donors from around the world.
We are ever grateful for your interest and support.
