This project aims to train health workers in Tanzania on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve healthcare delivery. The training will equip nurses, clinical officers, community health workers, and medical practitioners with digital skills that support disease diagnosis, patient management, and health data analysis.AI tools can help health workers make faster and more informed decisions, especially in underserved communities. The project will focus on affordable health systems
Many health facilities in Tanzania face shortages of skilled personnel and limited access to advanced diagnostic tools. Health workers often manage large numbers of patients with limited resources and time. Delays in diagnosis and treatment can contribute to preventable illnesses and deaths. Digital health technologies and AI solutions are growing globally, but many frontline health workers have not received adequate training to use them, increase awareness and technical skills.
workshops for health workers across selected regions in Tanzania. Participants will learn how AI can support disease screening, patient record management, health data analysis, and telemedicine services. Training materials will be adapted to local healthcare contexts and delivered by qualified trainers. Participants will receive hands-on experience using user-friendly AI tools and applications. Follow-up mentoring and peer learning networks will support continued use of AI in healthcare settings
Health workers will gain valuable digital skills that improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. Faster and more accurate decision-making can contribute to better patient outcomes and reduced mortality rates. Increased use of AI tools will strengthen health data management and evidence-based planning. Communities will benefit from improved access to timely and effective healthcare services. The project will create a network of trained professionals.
