Freedom For You Foundation (Freedom4U) wishes to inform that our project “Train First Responders fr NaviMumbai Youth Brigade - #31028” has collected only USD 415 till date. As mentioned in the last progress report, we had started institutional training in ERT to ensure safety of children through our mission #SAFESchool in all educational institutions by conducting FIRE DRILLS, which are one of the main aspects of an effective ERT.

Many schools and colleges have been proactive in calling us for initial discussions for sensitizing on topics such as Disaster Management, Emergency evacuation policy etc and to conduct the Fire Drill in their premises to safe guard the lives of children, staff and visitors.

Freedom4U wishes to inform you all that till date we have conducted more than 40 Fire drills and over 110 Awareness cum hands-on-training programs on Disaster Management in Educational Institutions benefitting over 40000 senior children.

Its been seen at all times that general people are averse to get trained in such an impotant topic such as ERT/Disaster Management/Fire Drills/ CPR trainings etc under the pretext that such things seldom happens. Upon such diaster happening, there ould be immediate rush to learn ERT techniques but no sooner than the people start forgetting the incident in just 1-3 months post incident, no one would even think of joining such a life saving training program even if it is rendered free of cost. This is quite natural behavior of people seen over the years.

Due to both paucity of funds and grossly inadequte response for such programs, we would be closing the down this project with this report, being the last, to our geneuinely interested donors caring for commoners' lives.

However, we as Freedom4U shall continue in all our efforts, though in small measures even if it be so, in educating all people in our community, in disaster preparedness, and disaster management which are very important to #SaveLifeAroundYou, our basic Mission.

We have also launched a few programs, in addition to #SafeSchool, viz., #SafeCollege, #SafeWorkPlace, #SafeSociety etc and keep addressing the people in all fora about the need of the hour, ie., disasters and calamities happening all over the country due to climate change and man-made factors.

Freedom4U thanks all donors who have diligently cared for safety of people by contributing to this noble project in the recent past.

Freedom For You Foundation is happy to inform you that our project “Train First Responders fr NaviMumbai Youth Brigade - #31028” has collected about USD 315 till date. Since it is grossly inadequate to train individuals, in groups of 50, we have started institutional training in ERT to ensure safety of children in educational institutions by conducting FIRE DRILLS in schools and colleges, under our aim to ensure SAFE School/SAFE College.

Such programs under the broad scope of ERT training has received enthusiastic response in the last few weeks and many schools are also talking to us to conduct such FIRE DRILL also known as MOCK Evacuation drill, which sensitizes school management, staff and students in disaster preparedness. We train schools by conducting a total fire inspection and audit of the building premises, hold a pre-briefing session, followed by an actual fire drill and de-briefing session after the safe evacuation. Then we also hold a hands-on-training cum demo session on using hand-held fire extinguishers on a controlled fire created for this purpose on an open ground for training both staff and students. You may see the attached short video for details and testimonials received by us.

Freedom For You Foundation conducted the pre-briefing session for over 140 staff members, predominantly women, in Ryan International School, and shall be conducting the Fire drill shortly.

Freedom For You Foundation has just completed a Fire drill session in VES College of Pharmacy a few days ago, where in over 250 students and staff members were evacuated successfully without any untoward incident, in approx. 7minutes from a Ground+7 structure.

More schools have been lined up in this month for such Fire drill programs. Besides the FIRE Drills, we are also conducting First-Aid, First Responder, Effective CPR and disaster management programs to these schools and colleges.

There has been general perception among the people that no disaster can happen and that the First-responder training is not important for them since they haven’t seen a disaster or accident in their vicinity. Hence the response has been poor for undergoing such training on weekends, despite the fact that we were offering free 2 days full day training programs. Hence, we thought it best to offer the same ERT training programs in different formats like Fire Drill, effective CPR, ABC of First Aid etc. in piece meal which has found takers, and institutions have shown encouraging response. Ultimately, our original plan to offer 2 full days ERT training on weekends, is now spread out in to 5 sessions of training on different topics under ERT during the week days, thereby increasing the overall costs marginally.

Freedom For You Foundation URGES YOU to contribute smaller amounts in recurring monthly donations & this would go a long way to meeting the increasing operating costs.
