Your generosity has helped us open a new set of doors to all of the women who come to us in need of something life-changing: an education. It’s because of kindhearted people like you that Goodwill Group has been able to show more than 5,000 women that brighter futures can be realized through learning. We cannot adequately put into words how much this means to us.
August 24, 2011, marked a special milestone in our history, as we celebrated the successful opening of a second branch in Ubonratchatani. Although we have not received full funding to cover all 3-years yet, we decided to open our office because there are many women waiting for our help. They have been waiting for our services. Your kind donation are still wamly welcome. Your donation will not only change women’s lives, it also stops an entire cycle of poverty in its tracks. When a woman has free access to resources such as the skills training and career services offered at Goodwill, she’s able to escape that cycle. As she lifts herself out of poverty, she also lifts her family and community.
Women from poor provinces like Ubonratchatani often seek work in Bangkok but, more often than not, they fall into unsafe and unfulfilling jobs. Our goal is to provide the essential skill sets and support systems they will need upon arrival in Bangkok. Services in Ubonratchathani will include career consultation, employment placement, computer workshops, English language courses and vocational training. All programs will be designed to empower Thai women and support them in becoming business professionals, entrepreneurs and service workers.
