Dear Donor,
Given the current situation - which is particularly bad in Brazil - we have made the decision to substantially change the scope of our courses and the way they will from now on be ministered.
1- We have shut down our “physical” school. The rental of the premises has been discontinued;
2- Due to our financial situation, we had to dismiss but one of the employees;
3- We are preparing a new online course to teach the technologies that are now being used in this new environment;
4- A monthly workshop for the online students will be held in a space that we are about to rent - much smaller and much cheaper than the one we had;
5- Only two paid persons will be needed from now on: the IT specialist who is already working on the courses and who will minister the courses, and a Social Assistant.
We are working on starting classes in September.
With the savings we made, we distributed “maternity kits” (diapers, powder milk, bottles, wipes etc.) to the mothers or mothers to be of our community.
Fortunately, our community is also being helped by two other entities and there has not been any lack of food. Also, very few covid 19 cases have been reported, the major problem being unemployment.
