This project will equip 200 disadvantaged youth in Benin with practical digital and information technology skills to improve their employability and economic opportunities. Many young people face unemployment due to limited access to quality ICT training and digital resources. Through a six-month training program, participants will learn computer literacy, Microsoft Office, internet and email use, digital communication, graphic design, web development fundamentals, digital marketing.
Benin has a rapidly growing youth population, yet many young people lack the digital skills required in today's labor market. Limited access to computers, internet connectivity, and quality ICT education prevents thousands of youth from competing for jobs and participating in the digital economy. According to national and international development reports, unemployment and underemployment remain significant challenges among young people. Many graduates leave school without practical digital.
This project will provide comprehensive digital skills training to 200 youth aged 18-35 in Benin. The training program will include: Basic computer literacy Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Internet research and online communication Digital safety and cybersecurity awareness Graphic design fundamentals Website development basics Digital marketing and social media management Introduction to artificial intelligence tools Entrepreneurship and freelancing skills Career readiness.
The project will create lasting economic and social benefits by building a digitally skilled workforce. Expected long-term outcomes include: 200 youth trained in digital and ICT skills. At least 120 participants obtaining employment, internships, or income-generating opportunities. Increased participation of women and underserved youth in the digital economy. Creation of new digital micro-enterprises and freelance businesses. Improved household incomes and economic resilience.
