Hello, awesome, generous donors!
You would have LOVED to see the excitement on the faces of the many at risk teeenagers when we explained that people from all over the world cared so much about their futures that they contributed ALL the funds needed to launch the career training and entreprenurship fund that we had pitched to them before we had a dime in the bank for this idea.
My heart just melted (I'm pretty sure yours would, too) to see the hope in their eyes as we told them to go ahead and write down (or tell us) their wish lists of trades/businesses they would like to launch and/or learn about. They know only too well that this opportunity is squared with the goal of keeping them out of reach of human trafficking predators they know are out there, just looking for at risk youths like them. They are intimately familiar with the tradgedies that have befallen friends and family, and are serious about taking control of their own lives so that no one else can.
We decided to kick the project off with the first young entreprenur, a talented artist who dreams of selling his original paintings to tourists who often look for unique gifts for family and friends - particularly those who want to bring "a bit of Thailand home with them".
We we have included pictures of this talented young artist [name withheld for security reasons], along with his first four paintings. We are working out the logistics of how to help him with mentorship from specific people from the local artist community, business skills, and how to do the most with the money he has received from the entreprenurship fund YOU have made possible with your generous contributions to his future.
We will have more stories and updates for you as we continue working with these youths at risk of human trafficking to find out what they have true passion for and want to pursue with our help and the help of our local partners in Thailand.
We and they couldn't expect brighter futures without your generous help, so THANK YOU very much for your contribution to this new and exciting project, which is sure to change many lives for the better and best!
We will be sure to keep you updated on its progress. Thank you for doing your part to prevent human trafficking by providing such practical support to so many youths at risks of the worst forms of exploitation in Thailand.
Sincerely,
Christina Arnold
