The rainy season is over and the planting season began in full force in October, Two months later, the villagers are now reaping the benefits and seeing their crops grow. School children are asked to help with the crops.
They are able to make a substatial commitment to the School Breakfast program feed their children and still have enough to sell at the market place. This year, the vllagers have committed to giving 20% of our school breakfast program cost and therefore making it self-sustainable. This is done by giving produce farmed to provide food for the children. The surplus is then sold at the market, making a decent living for the farmers. It is a win-win situation an is being replicated in different villages.
