In Turkey, 1 out of 36 children is born with the risk of autism. Although it is known that more than 2 million have autism, 700 thousand of them are in the education age, that is, between the ages of 0-18. Unfortunately, only 42 thousand of them have access to education. In order to prevent this inequality we collect donations to give scholarships to children with autism whose parents do not have eneough money to support their children’s education.
At Tohum Autism Foundation Support Education Unit children with autsism receive special education, which is their only cure. We launched the project so that more children with autism whose parents income is not enough can benefit from educational opportunities. Within the scope of our campaign, with the donations granted we want to increase the number of scholarship students and ensure that more children can receive education.
If we can reach the donation amount we target in the project, one-year special education scholarship and educational material fee for 10 children with autism receiving education at the Support Education Unit of Tohum Autism Foundation will be provided.
200 students are waiting for a scholarship in our Support Education Unit. However, we have a quota for 70 students in line within the capacity of our school. Therefore we need more support to provide scholarships to these students.
