Ukrainian children of war have not experienced normal school in years, if ever. What should be a fun time of learning and new friendship is instead war and loss. Sounds of lessons are replaced by sounds of bombs and sirens. School supplies are limited. Some students have been killed, others have parents or teachers they have lost. Electricity goes out frequently and children study in the cold and in the dark.
It is a difficult time for school children, and each year of the war we have prepared long in advance, sourcing school items since the winter, so that we can help as many students as we can have a successful year.
We have compiled hundreds of back to school packs this year to support students in need - backpacks full of supplies like markers, notebooks, books, toys, paints, water bottles, pencils, rulers, and so much more. We are distributing these gifts now and are so excited to see the smiling faces who will receive them.
On September 1, same as for the previous two years, we brought fun and excitement to as many students as possible, providing them with all the school supplies! Backpacks, pencils, markers, notebooks, toys, calculators, rulers, books, and so many other essential school supplies.
