The 100 poor and at risk children and women in the urban poor communities of Phnom Penh will be saved with the immediate assistance for food and sanitation reliefs. They will have food to eat with hygiene practice and adapt to the Covid pandemic. The community based organization (CBO) will be organized to raise, plan and include their basic need services in the commune development plans of local commune councils. The children and women will live with food, safety and hope for future.
Being affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, several thousands of poor urban children, women and families in Phnom Penh have been struggling to survive without sufficient food due to loss of jobs, no incomes and shortage of food and sanitation supplies. Children and women live in severe hunger and are more vulnerable without sanitation items to prevent the infection of Covid. They loosed their labor jobs and incomes because many businesses and schools have been closed through out Cambodia.
You and UPWD will save the lives of 100 the poor and at risk children, women and their families in 5 poor urban communities in Phnom Penh, Cambodia through food relief, sanitation relief, hygiene awareness raising, community based organization (CBO) organizing and lobbying the local governments to include them in the commune development plan. Children and women from 100 families will have food to eat and stay safe from Covid infection with sanitation items including masks and alcohol.
100 poor and at risk children and women who live in the urban poor communities will receive the immediate assistance for food and sanitation reliefs. For long term solution, they will have better hygiene practices and can adapt themselves to the Covid pandemic. Equally important, they will be organized as the collective community based organization (CBO) to raise, plan and include their basic need services in the commune development plans of local commune councils. They will live with hope.
