The Haiti Soccer Project is a non profit organization dedicated to the promotion of organized youth soccer in Haiti. Soccer is a passion in Haiti, but despite having the desire to play the game, most children are not able to participate in organized leagues with the proper equipment. Basic equipment such as soccer balls, cleats, and uniforms are not accessible for most children who wish to play. Our goal is to alleviate these problems and give those children an opportunity to play and have fun!
Most families are not able to enroll their children in organized leagues. They do not have access to soccer equipment, such as cleats, shin guards, balls; which are very expensive.
The Haiti Soccer Project distributes soccer gear, and other items that make playing a normal game possible. The program also works with organizers in Haiti to set up leagues where children can play in organized, refereed games.
The program provides participants a structure within which to learn about teamwork, competition. This project, thru soccer, also offers unique opportunities to promote health, tolerance, fair play, cooperation and unity. Soccer is a vehicle to reinforce/promote family and societal values.
