We’re almost at the end of the third month of 2021! A year past the onset of one of the toughest global crises in recent history. Also a year past the time we had originally hoped to be in our new home. Most amazingly, and by the grace of God and you - our loyal supporters, we have managed to pull through with the most surprising resilience. Admittedly we are still in the thick of it, our team are feeling the same fog and fatigue that many have been expressing, but somehow hope still flows through our hearts and our home as we hear the babble and laughter of our loved little ones. While the timeline for our move has been pushed waaaay out, beyond anything we could have anticipated – stretching our endurance just that little bit extra, we have no doubt that within the foreseeable future we will finally be settling into our new home.
Despite the bank insisting we jump through numerous hurdles before releasing our bond, there have been some exciting developments in the wings which we can hardly wait share with you! But, since things are not finalized just yet we felt it prudent to hold onto this special announcement until all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed. Our next update will surely be one filled with celebration and appreciation. <3
In the meantime, we continue about our daily work – bringing in new little ones with open and loving arms, and saying bitter-sweet goodbyes to the ones we have loved as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. Along with our local volunteers, we have started welcoming international volunteers again which has been a welcome return to some level of our normal function and adds a huge relief to our caregiver schedule.
In these times of uncertainty we continue to welcome and appreciate any support that we are blessed with – whether it be for our daily needs or towards our caregiver salaries or toward the bond of our new home. Even just the simple act of bringing us up in conversation goes a long way to raising awareness – planting the seed that may inspire others to consider offering us their support. It all adds up to make such a big difference in our work as we navigate these uncertain times. Thank you for being part of this journey with us, and most importantly with them – our babies! Whilst they may never know your name and the gifts you blessed them with we see you and we appreciate you and we know that this work could not continue without each of you who help make this work possible!
As ever, please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions, comments or feedback! I’m always happy to hear from our valued supporters.
With Hope, Love and Gratitude,
