Going two by two into the fields
![]()
Thank you for all those of you who are supporting this project with your finances and prayers. The work would not be complete without your support.
Today we share the growth of our Congo bean plants. It is nice to see them in nice tidy rows, not always possible in our terrain. The workers toil under the sun every day. Even on days when the rains come, because the rain makes the soil more pliable and easier to work with. In this climate, even after a torrential storm, the soil is dry and hard in just a few hours. So, the work continues. If you look closely at the attached pictures, you will see the grass fields in the background. These fields stretch to other end of the valley and on both sides of the river. We are always amazed by God's blessing of this land and for those who work diligently.
Today we read Luke 10:1-12, which is the story of the sending of the 72 to every town and place he intended to visit. Two by two he sent them. They worked together, just like our oxen teams, to prepare the soil for the planting, for new crops. Seeds that will multiply 20, 30 or 100-fold.
Even though we cannot see these crops grow each day, being over 3,500 miles away, we trust in the providence of God our Creator, that His plan for our work is being blessed. Even as we send our workers two by two, always two by two, into the fields.
As the oxen team works in pairs, as do our mules, so much is able to be done when we partner with someone else. We hope you can be one of those partners and team up with us to make this work move from dream to reality. Each step of the oxen brings hope of a successful planting and growing season. Each step of our workers make their field of dreams more attainable.
Our help is in the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Thank you again for your financial support. Can you help us as we start a new month and a new season of growth, love and hope.
