Nourishing Dreams: Sampark's Daan Utsav Campaign

By V. Prameela | CEO, Sampark

For many migrant children, hunger is an everyday reality that overshadows childhood itself. Poor nutrition affects their brain development, weakens their immunity, and often forces them to drop out from school. Over time, this cycle of malnutrition and missed learning opportunities keeps them trapped in poverty, limiting their chance to grow, thrive, and imagine a better future. Studies show that in India, more than 33% of the children under 5 are underweight, and more than 1.2 million children drop out of school every year.

Sampark’s Daan Utsav campaign was designed to break this cycle by addressing the most urgent need first: nutrition

By providing daily nutritious meals and consistent care, the campaign ensured that children no longer were hungry. With full stomachs and renewed energy, they were able to attend schools regularly, participate actively, and begin learning with confidence.

This simple yet powerful intervention helped create a safe, supportive environment where children could focus on growing, playing, and dreaming again.

Outcome of the campaign: Sampark provided nutritious meals to 53 migrant children for an entire month, an effort that makes a real difference in their growth and well-being. The estimated cost of supporting the nutrition of one child for a month is 2,500.

Impact created

  1. Children received daily nutritious meals for an entire month.
  2. Children showed improved energy, attention, and participation in class.

  3. Regular meal support reduced absenteeism and encouraged consistent school attendance.

  4. Healthy, well-nourished children were better able to learn, play, and engage.

  5. The campaign helped break the link between hunger and poor learning outcomes.

  6. Children regained the confidence to dream, grow, and aspire for a better future.

Heartfelt Gratitude

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors whose generosity made this campaign possible. Your support ensured that migrant children received the nutrition and care they urgently needed, allowing them to learn, play, and dream without the weight of hunger.

Because of you, 53 children experienced a month of good health, stability, and hope. Thank you for standing with Sampark and for believing in the potential of every child; your kindness is truly changing lives.
