Virginia Garcia’s Health & Resource Fair will provide needed health, dental and vision screenings, education and wellness information to low income families (900 individuals) free of charge.
There are more than 90,000 individuals who lack health insurance in Washington and Yamhill Counties. Even more lack dental insurance. These individuals often struggle to find and maintain their health because they face barriers including: economic, linguistic, cultural, transportation and other barriers. These impact the health and wellness of the community, leading to increasing rates of chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity and a decrease in oral and overall health.
This project will allow close to 1000 individuals to access health, vision and dental screenings for free along with resource information. This will also enable individuals and families to be referred to the Virginia Garcia Clinic for further care.
Close to 1,000 individuals will receive health and dental screenings and will gain access to a primary care provider. These individuals will also receive resource information that will help them access the services they need.
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
