We are so happy to report that after a lot of help from our friends around the world, followers on social media, and website visitors, we were able to close 2020 with 50,000 USD in gross sales! This has allowed over 350 people of which 67% are women and 30% are children to get enough income to make a living during these dire times.
During the end of the year, many of the suppliers received large orders to respond to the Christmas rush and started preparing for the Easter and Valentine's sales season.
The Mikono Project team has also been accepted to the Miller Center's Social Entrepreneurship Program focused on Women's Empowerment and will begin a mentorship program that will help the project grow and expand to other livelihood projects in East Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
