Hello, amazing supporters and donors,
773 Dance Project has had a busy beginning to the year! We have expanded our donation-based dance model to offer evening adult dance classes. At this moment, we offer Mat Pilates with Director Tyler on Tuesdays from 6-7 pm and Contemporary with Director Pauline on Thursdays from 6-7 pm. All of our programming (outside of our contracted agreements with community centers) is donation-based, furthering our mission of increasing access to dance for everyone. This year, we have held 4 sessions of donation-based adult evening dance classes, have 4 running youth dance programs at community centers, hosted 2 donation-based professional dance performances, and 2 dancewear giveaways, through which we have donated over $10,000 in new and gently used dancewear to the community.
We remain dedicated to our mission and keeping all our programs donation-based and accessible. With our current funding, 773 has had to stop paying the directors altogether for their work. This does not change our dedication and passion for this work, but it does make it harder to ensure every program gets the attention it deserves. Additionally, we prioritize paying all of our instructors and performing artists a fair wage and on time. It is because of donors and supporters like you that we are able to help sustain Chicago's creative community. The impact we create directly comes from those who help us help others.
