A Global Mentorship was planned for this reporting period. Facilitators from around the globe were making arrangements to gather in Canada for mentorship, learning, and celebration. Due to global unrest, flight cancellations, and growing safety concerns, the mentorship was canceled, and a smaller gathering emerged, drawing facilitators from the US, Finland, Canada, the Cayman Islands, and Singapore.
Many activities were shared by the participants, including interactive introductions, virtues games, and virtues art activities; a Q&A with Virtues Project International Association board members; and facilitator presentations. One of our Canadian facilitators shared that she is writing a book in which she will share personal stories of using the virtues with her children.
Other activities included a presentation on the Virtues Project School Designation program, a video of a virtues school in Malaysia, and a sharing circle featuring program highlights and challenges from facilitators in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Singapore, and Finland; a humorous, educational, and magical presentation by one of our facilitators who is also a ventriloquist, and an in depth presentation, Tools in Our Toolbox, ways to enhance the Five Strategies.
The evening presentation featured Ayla Bull and her father, Leroy, performing a hoop dance that was absolutely enjoyed by all!
We wish to acknowledge the generosity of the event sponsor, Occupational Therapist Paul Huget, the owner of Lifemax Occupational Therapy.
