After extensive hurricane repair work, Sisterhood Agenda's SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy is looking great! It is a unique experience to see a beautiful building created, damaged by Mother Nature, and go through the process of being reborn.
We are extremely grateful for assistance from the public, including Global Giving and donors like you. This project would not exist without your help!
Our building is stronger and looks better than ever, thanks to upgrades and effective hurricane mitigation building strategies. Gratitude and appreciation are expressed to our builder, Vincent Powell, who dedicated his time and talents once again to Sisterhood Agenda's special project.
Based on the small island of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, the SEA is a peaceful, holistic health and healing space that supports Sisterhood Agenda's mission to educate, support and empower women and girls around the globe with a diverse and inclusive sisterhood.
The SEA is a unique, one-of-a-kind oceanfront facility that offers a mental, physical and spiritual retreat surrounded by a natural environment that nurtures the mind, body, and soul.

Good day everyone! Sisterhood Agenda is thrilled to coordinate its rebuilding process with our donors, contractors and natural disaster resource agencies.
Honestly, it has been a struggle. However, we are hopeful that this peaceful, serene space for trauma-informed educational, health and healing activities for women and girls will be restored to its former glory. It's our SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy and we need it.
We understand that this enormous process (hurricane relief, recovery and rebuilding) takes time, especially on the tiny island of St. John where there are limited local resources. This is what makes St. John a special, although sometimes challenging, place to live and work.
It is our hope that our hurricane repairs will be completed by the next hurricane season-June 2018. The next hurricane season is rapidly approaching.
While we realize that these things are out of our control, we maintain our optimism. It helps to have an awesome builder!
Thank you all for your support during our recovery and rebuilding process. It means a lot to us.
Sincerely,
Angela D. Coleman
Founder & President
Sisterhood Agenda has recently set up an administrative office in the Baltimore-Washington geographical area while repairs to our SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy on St. John, USVI are being completed. Our new telephone number is (833) 3-SISTER, (833) 374-7837 and we have a stateside mailing address in addition to our Virgin Islands location.
With efficient communications in place, Sisterhood Agenda is poised to provide much-needed services to our constituents including, but not limited to: schools, organizations, health agencies, and NGO's. Our stateside constituents are particularly excited about our new accessibility for training and resource-sharing.
Training activities include curriculum guide reviews, teacher/mentor engagement strategies, and facilitator preparation for program implementation.
Sisterhood Agenda's training specifically prepares program administrators for the realities that they face working with women and girls today. Trauma and stress are common experiences for today's young women. Sisterhood Agenda is also working on creating a psychological first aid training module, similar to the one used when Sisterhood Agenda team members provided hurricane relief for residents on St. John after Hurricane Irma.
Gaining knowledge, building resilience, establishing positive peer support, and coordinating an extensive support network are some of the program goals at the SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy.
Thank you for making SEA resources available for those who need it most.
Dear Friends,
Like too many of us, Sisterhood Agenda has been affected by recent catastrophic storms, specifically Hurricane Irma. Our Sisterhood Agenda team is safe and our headquarters, the SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy, remains closed.
We have been without electricity since September 5, 2017 and some areas on our island, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, will be in the dark until 2018!

That being said, we are eternally grateful for life and for what still stands as well as our building and mission to promote sisterhood around the globe through education, women's support, and empowerment.
Thank you to all of you who have expressed concerned, offered and provided help as we heal and recover from this important life event.
Natural disasters like Hurricane Irma reiterate the importance of living in harmony with nature and communion with one another. With a clean slate, when we are ready, we will rebuild: stronger, smarter, and better than before.
In our Sister Circles training and counseling, we talk about resiliency. Rather than weakening or crippling us, our adversities can reshape our resolve and make us stronger than ever, building incrementally on a foundation of success.
Know that we are here with our positive intentions and that we will not be forgotten! We invite you to join us. You can donate, volunteer, and participate in your own way.
Thank you for putting Sisterhood on the Agenda!
In the Spirit of Sisterhood,
Angela D. Coleman, MBA, CNM
Founding President
