Thank you all for being supporters of The Play Space - A Youth Robotics Makerspace! Just wanted to give you all a quick update to let you all know what has been going on!
What a crazy last 3 months!
March saw final preparations for the inaugural FIRST Tech Challenge West Super-Regional tournament. We ran the largest FTC Competition west of the Rockies to date! 72 teams from 12 states came together for an incredible weekend of amazing youth robotics!
In early April, we hosted 4 Jr FIRST LEGO League expos, providing opportunities for 40+ teams to demonstrate their accomplishements!
At the end of April, our staff travelled to St. Louis to participate as volunteers at the FIRST World Championships.
In mid-May, we participated in the Bay Area Maker Faire, including hosting the 4th annual FTCquel off-season competition. 16 teams demonstrated FIRST Tech Challenge to thousands of Maker Faire visitors!
We are currently preparing for 8 weeks of summer robotics camps and are looking forward to exciting more students about science, technology and engineering!
We are pleased to share that Oracle has made a significant donation in support of The Play Space. Thank You Oracle!
There is a Microsoft Youth Spark Bonus day coming up on June 25th. Help us take advantage of Microsoft's support by spreading the word and encouraging others to support our project!
As always, we continue to be challenged in raising sufficient funding to add staff and programs and truly appreciate the support you have all shown us so far this year!
Thank You!
