The Play Space - Project Update

By Mark Edelman | Director of Programs

Thank you all for being supporters of The Play Space - A Youth Robotics Makerspace! Just wanted to give you all a quick update to let you all know what has been going on!

The Play Space has had a busy last few months!  It provided a destination for FIRST LEGO League teams to compete in an FLL Qualifying Tournament, it provided a destination for FIRST Tech Challenge teams to compete in an FTC Qualifying tournament.  Several FTC Teams and several FIRST Robotics Competition teams have come and used The Play Space for practice with their robots and teams.

In all, between the tournaments and the practice days, The Play Space provided STEM enrichment opportunities for approximately 500 students in the past 2-3 months.

Currently, we are working hard to prepare for the FTC West Super-Regional Championship that will take place March 20th-22nd.  FTC Teams from the West 12 states will all be coming to participate in an action packed 2+ days, all in a effort to earn an opportunity to compete at the World Championship in late April.

We will be hosting JrFLL Expos in mid-April and are eager to see what the JrFLL teams have created this year!

In general, we continue to be challenged in raising sufficient funding to add staff and programs and truly appreciate the support you have all shown us so far this year!

Thank You!
