The most valuable gift It is just in those moments when we discover that the magic of Christmas is awakened by sharing what we have. We all have something to give: - A worthy ROOF - A safe place to call home - A new beginning
More than 114 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean live in precarious places, where more than half of the population has neither land title nor regular access to at least one basic service.
TECHO Colombia works together with residents and volunteer youth to design, manage and build housing projects, access to basic services and community infrastructure. Its objective is to overcome the situation of poverty in which millions of people live in informal settlements in Colombia and to train young volunteers through links and joint work with the inhabitants of settlements and other public and private actors.
We seek a just, egalitarian, integrated and poverty-free society in which all people can fully exercise their rights and duties, and have the opportunities to develop their capabilities. TECHO has built more than 10,000 emergency housing units and has mobilized more than 50,000 volunteers in Latin America. Through our work, we seek to generate structural change in society and in the way poverty is addressed in Latin America and the Caribbean.
