Wellness Fair
Just recently we celebrated a somber anniversary of a year since the fires that destroyed Lahaina town in Maui on August 8, 2023. We have been holding yoga and tai shi classes at the Royal Lahaina resort were a majority of the displaced residents were still being housed through June until it was re-open for tourists. This was powerful as we offered tai chi and yoga to thos who were in need. We have been working with the County of Maui and hope sto soon have more offerings hopefully soon at the Civic Center in Lahaina. We are now setting our sights on finding a home for our wellness center. We attended a wellness resource fair and met the mayor of Maui Richard Bissen. He states he is dedicated to helping us bring healing and offer resources to those affected by the fires. Thank you for your support.

The last eight months in the paradise of the Hawaiian Island of Maui has been very tumultuous since the devastating fires of August 8, 2023. But the resilience of its residents is apparent.
We continue to serve by offering free wellness classes both on the ground in West Maui as well as many virtual class offerings. Most importantly it offers community and connection for those still feeling effects from the fire and its aftermath.
Having partnered with MEO, we are able to hire a staff member later this month to help run our programs as well as still searching for a partner location to hold indoor classes. Outdoor classes have continued as available due to the rainy season, with meditation, tai chi and yoga classes at beach parks and hubs.
Thank you for supporting this program and the people of Maui. It is imperative that survivors know they are not alone and can help control their post traumatic stress and anxiety with natural, self directed care.

It has been just over 4 months since the devastating fires hit the town of Lahaina Maui. Within a ten days of the disaster, we began offering classes on beaches and at community hubs. they have been well received and we also did some healing outreach for one on one sessions with volunteer healers.
Currently we have 4 weekly classes at different sites as well as a potential new partnership with Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO) which we hope will bring these classes to even more people on island.
We have also Begun to create resources for people with different online classes and resources. we have over 15 classes per week currently that are online, including reiki healing, yoga, meditation and tai chi. We are holding more workshops on trauma resilience and are looking forward in 2024 to expanding our reach throughout the island.
The island is healing in some regards quicker than had been anticipated, but the after-effects are very long.lasting with the shock beginning to wear off. We are hoping to be a wonderful resource to help with the grief.
