Celebrate Immanuel 2026 is a community wellbeing and evangelism initiative that uses the performing arts to strengthen social connectedness, foster resilience, and promote emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It will bring hope, healing, and transformation to 1,000 Ugandans facing mental health challenges (24%), unemployment (80%), poverty, and social isolation. We plan to establish an annual Christmas outreach uniting churches and communities to share God's love and Gospel through creative arts.
Uganda faces rising mental health challenges and youth unemployment. About 24% of adults and 23% of children experience mental health conditions, yet fewer than 10% receive psychosocial and emotional support. Additionally, 50.9% of youth are not in employment, education, or training. Celebrate Immanuel 2026 offers hope through music, drama, worship, prayer, counseling, and the Gospel, reaching 1,000 people at Christmas.
The project will provide a Christmas production with music, dance, drama, worship, prayer, and pastoral counseling to restore hope and emotional well-being. Parents will be taught how to give their children psychosocial and emotional support. Participants will receive psychosocial support, hear the Gospel, and be encouraged to join church fellowship and support groups. Volunteers and church leaders will be equipped to provide follow-up care and share messages of hope within their communities.
The project will inspire and support 1,000 children, youth, and adults with hope, emotional healing, and spiritual guidance. Participants will build stronger community connections, access ongoing church support, and develop greater resilience, improving their well-being and enabling them to positively influence their families' and communities' health and well-being long after the Christmas event.
