The International Back-to-School Hackathon teaches students around the world important computer science skills, collaboration skills, and how global human issues can be solved with teamwork and technology. This program brings access to education and technology to all of its participants the world over, providing student to not only learn coding and design, but to gain perspective from their peers in other countries.
Millions of young people around the world lack the education and experience to go after the jobs that will be available in the 21st century. Whether due to a lack of awareness, proper education, access to technology, or economic mobility, they clack the ability to take on a career in a competitive global market. Without access to these tools the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals will not be equipped to meet the human and environmental needs of the future.
The International Back-to-School Hackathon is an opportunity for students to learn how computer science, technology, and global collaboration will be the key to addressing large scale social, human, and environmental issues of the future. Students will gain perspective through working with other students from diverse ethnicity, locations, and socioeconomic backgrounds, while building a catalog of skills that will serve them in their future careers and assist them in addressing large scale issues
Students who are given fair access to education and technology at an early age are the engine that powers positive future change. Millions of people the world over are affected daily by the technological innovations of the past twenty years. The next generation of students is facing some very challenging issues, and they need to be prepared to face those issues head on. Giving these students the tools they need will make it possible for them to overcome these problems.
