Help transform the life of a deaf child by supporting their journey to hearing. Many children await cochlear implants, which will enable them to communicate, learn, and thrive. We are raising funds to cover the high costs of surgery and follow-up care, as many have no other financial support. Your contribution will directly impact their development, offering hope, joy, and a brighter future. Together, we can give them the gift of hearing and a world of opportunities.
Public health systems in Southern Africa often prioritize other medical needs over hearing loss due to the high cost of technology and the limited availability of audiologists. Many families rely on public healthcare because private healthcare and medical insurance are out of reach. Approximately 2% of babies are born with profound hearing loss, and many underserved, profoundly deaf children cannot access cochlear implants and speech therapy without financial assistance from the private sector.
We take a holistic approach to improve the lives of deaf individuals by bridging the gap to the hearing world and preventing isolation. Through partnerships, we offer comprehensive support, including audiology services, therapy, rehabilitation, and education. Our focus is on funding cochlear implants for individuals aged 10 months to 90 years with profound bilateral hearing loss, helping them thrive.
Our project aims to create lasting positive changes for deaf individuals, including improved speech and language development, better educational opportunities, and enhanced equality. They will gain the ability to hear speech, recognize sounds, and understand speech in noisy environments. This will boost self-esteem, social interaction, emotional well-being, and cognitive development, ultimately improving their quality of life and future prospects.
