In March 2017 we launched the new version of our exhibition, The F Word: stories that transform, at the Oxo Gallery on London’s South Bank.
‘A phenomenal, moving exhibition’
‘Moving and refreshing in a time when hate is so prominent’
‘Captivating, eye-opening and enlightening’
‘Powerful and necessary. Thank you.’
- Quotes from Visitors
We were lucky to have our storytellers Arno Michaelis, Shad Ali, Jacob Dunne and Jude Whyte with us at the launch. Arno’s interview on BBC Radio’s Today programme the following day certainly helped to draw in the crowds but many more just stumbled across the exhibition as they were strolling down the South Bank. One woman told us: “I had no idea The Forgiveness Project existed. It has made me a better person. Thank you!”
To coincide with the launch we also held a number of events to showcase some of our projects. Events included an opportunity to meet storytellers from our RESTORE prison programme; workshops with school students to explore the consequences of a single action, and the journey of one of our younger storytellers. We held a restorative circle, and we premiered ‘The Meeting,’ a film we’ve made which tells the story of how Shad Ali met and forgave the man who brutally attacked him.
The exhibition was a fantastic opportunity for all The Forgiveness Project team to meet with the public, hear stories from our visitors about their own journeys, and to further our understanding of how our work impacts people.
