Recalling the Project
The Clube dos Sonhos program aims to provide scholarships for low-income children and young people who are talented in various fields, opening opportunities to develop leadership capable of generating transformation through their enhanced skills. Our focus is to train young talents who are socio-emotionally strengthened, academically well-prepared, and grounded in ethical values.
Participation in the Science Days Event
Science Days is an annual science and technology event promoted by the Instituto Alpha Lumen, in partnership with the Michaelis Foundation for Global Education. Aimed at elementary and high school students, the event seeks to create educational opportunities and raise awareness about the importance of the aerospace industry and its impact on the economy.
Inspired by Florida Space Day, Science Days aims to foster entrepreneurship and highlight startups among young university students, encouraging initiatives in science and technology. Over its editions, Science Days has stood out for attracting a growing number of participants interested in science and technology, offering a platform for students to explore new frontiers in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
The participation of students from public schools, both in elementary and high school, in Science Days is extremely beneficial and transformative, as it offers opportunities that can directly impact their academic and professional future. Many public school students do not have access to well-equipped laboratories or large-scale scientific events. Science Days provides direct exposure to technological innovations, space projects, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other STEM-related fields, broadening students' perspectives on the possibilities of science.
By interacting with scientists, entrepreneurs, and researchers, students have the chance to see science applied in practice and understand how they can pursue careers in these fields. This exposure can awaken vocations and encourage the development of critical and innovative thinking. Furthermore, events like Science Days democratize knowledge and show that science and technology are not accessible only to specific social groups. Public school students can find inspiration, realize that they too can enter the technology sector, and aspire to careers that once seemed out of reach.
The event also contributes to the development of essential skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creativity. Encouraging entrepreneurship inspires young people to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Additionally, participating in the event can open doors to educational programs, scientific competitions, and even scholarships at academic and research institutions. For many public school students, these connections can be decisive for their academic and professional growth.
Science Days is much more than just an event; it is a unique opportunity for public school students to dream big, expand their horizons, and connect with a world of possibilities. Exposure to cutting-edge science and technology can be the first step in transforming these young people’s lives and building a more innovative and inclusive future for all.
The participating students also continued engaging in various fields of knowledge offered by Instituto Alpha Lumen:
Arts and Culture: Through the Projeto Multiarte, students explore various forms of artistic expression, including theater, music, dance, photography, and audiovisual arts. They participate in workshops and training sessions that develop their creative and expressive skills.
Science and Technology: In the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), IAL offers activities such as robotics, programming, and game design. Projects like Robótica e Cidadania bring robotics workshops to public school students, encouraging interest in technology and innovation.
Scientific Research: The Projeto Verus engages students in scientific research focused on fact-checking and combating fake news, especially related to climate emergencies and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sports: The Projeto Esporte Inteligente offers training in sports such as judo and futsal, promoting not only sports practice but also academic guidance and pedagogical support for students.
Simulations and Debates: The Projeto MundIAL provides students with the opportunity to participate in simulations of international conferences, such as the United Nations, promoting discussions on global topics and developing public speaking and diplomacy skills.
Socio-Emotional Education: Activities like Dia de Brindar a Vida are carried out to promote students' emotional well-being, with actions that encourage valuing life and exchanging positive messages among students, teachers, and staff.
