Remembering the project:
The Clube dos Sonhos program aims to offer scholarships to low-income young people and children, talented in different areas, opening opportunities to develop leaders capable of generating transformation based on their enhanced skills. Our focus is to train young talents who are socio-emotionally strengthened, well-prepared academically and supported by ethical values.
Highlights from recent months:
Chess
The 2024 Paulista Escolar Chess Championship, in individual mode, was marked by brilliant performances from our students. In the 1st middleweight category, Lúis Miguel won 4th place, followed by Tamanhao in 6th. In the 2nd medium, Otávio obtained 4th place, and Augusto shone with 1st place. Among the youngest, Davi, from the 9th year, secured 3rd place, and Mateus, from the 8th year, reached 5th place.
In addition to individual achievements, Alpha Lumen received the 3rd place trophy as the school that scored the most in the event, celebrating the collective effort of all participants.
These results reflect the positive impact of Clube dos Sonhos on students’ lives, offering them an opportunity to develop strategic skills, discipline and self-confidence.
The participation of students participating in the Clube dos Sonhos, from the Alpha Lumen Institute, is an inspiring example of the power of inclusive education.
Olympics
The Bioneers and Biotutu teams won first place in the Biomedical Engineering Olympiad, held at Inatel, in Santa Rita do Sapucaí. Bioneers won in the visual category, and Biotutu in the auditory category. The competition brought together high school students from various regions of Brazil, encouraging the development of technological solutions in the biomedical area. Organized in two phases, the Olympics is part of the Nativos do Futuro initiative, with support from Finep and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Another highlight was the SBP Mata-Cupim Inatel team, which competed in the "robot war termite" category, further enriching the event.
MundIAL – Model United Nations Debate Instituto Alpha Lumen is an Olympiad aimed at students aged 14 to 18 around the world, regularly enrolled in a basic education institution, it was held in October/24.
This Olympiad seeks to promote the understanding of international relations, diplomacy and the resolution of global problems, inspiring young people to get involved in the debate on relevant international issues, linked to the practices of United Nations simulations.
Science Fair
At the science fair at Instituto Alpha Lumen, students presented a variety of creative and interactive projects, ranging from simple experiments to more elaborate prototypes. Middle and high school students presented a demonstration of how potatoes can be used as batteries to generate energy, a model of a miniature volcano, using bicarbonate and vinegar to simulate an eruption. They also presented basic chemistry experiments, such as acid-base reactions and studies on the growth and evolution of plants under different light conditions, among many other projects.
The environment was one of dynamic learning, with projects that arouse curiosity and the exchange of ideas, reflecting the students' potential to explore science in a creative way.
